After countless close calls over the last 14 games, Kimmo Timonen finally scored his 100th career National Hockey League goal against Ryan Miller and the Buffalo Sabres. Timonen is the 83rd defenseman in NHL history to reach the 100 goal mark, and ranks 13th among active defensemen.Timonen's 100th came shorthanded, which is the fifth shorthanded goal of his career.

The nine defensemen that the Flyers have iced this season have combined for 17 goals. Timonen is tied with Chris Pronger for second with four goals, trailing only Andrej Meszaros who has five. Timonen has 28 points so far this season, only one behind point Matt Carle who is leading the defense with 29 points.
